Sunrise before burning. Took this one from Pu'u 'ula'ula (Red Hill) - the summit of Haleakala, which is above 10,000 feet above sea level.

Sunrise photo from the summit of Haleakala. To reach the summit of Haleakala, at 10,000 feet above sea level, we left the hotel at around 2:30am in the morning. At the peak, the temperature is around 40 oF (or 5 oC). If you plan to go there, make sure you wear enough layers.

Imagining Lava Field
After about 3.5 miles hike walking on the lava field, we finally made it. Molten lava on the right... a HDR to show where we were.
